    The 4th Annual Jay's Run 5k Run/Walk was held in Robinson State Park on Saturday August 8, 2009 at 5:00PM, in memory of Jason "Jay" Olbrych.  This year we were blessed with perfect running weather, compared to last year when we had to cancel when a heavy storm with lightning and hail hit at start time.

    Jay was a young man of outstanding character who had a passion for running.  He competed for Agawam High School in Cross-Country and Track.  Jay holds the Agawam School records for Freshman and Sophomores on the Robinson Park Cross-Country course.

    In 2004 Jay finished 13th in Western Mass in Cross-Country and competed in the State Meet.  He was chosen as a co-captain for the 2005 XC season (but died in a car accident on June 26,2005).  Jay was a fierce competitor and was known for his good sportsmanship and his great sense of humor.  He made friends with many of his competitors, and his teammates will never forget his fun loving nature.

    The Olbrych family will be honored by your participation in this race to be run in tribute to Jay.
